Make Mending Creative

Oh, the joy of kids and how hard they are on clothes. This has been an ongoing issue for us with a son that loves to cut fabric (I guess he’s trying to be like mom…) and loves to rough-house. I decided that throwing these away was just not an option so I had to come up with a creative way to mend them. Several years ago I came across Sashiko stitching and knew that was my answer. It is an easy and creative way to make these clothes last as long as possible.

Sewing for the Schoolhouse

This is such a great sewing project – The Schoolhouse Tunic from Sew Liberated. I want to make more longer ones (great with leggings) and this will be cute in a shorter shirt length too! It is an straightforward and fun pattern that is explained very well. I made this one in a linen cotton blend that I’ve had in my stash for years. With the weather in South Texas already warming up, it is a perfect spring top. What have you been sewing lately?

Make your Own – Diffuser Necklace

This was such a fun project! As you can see from other posts, I like to use essential oils on a daily basis and in all sorts of ways. My favorite way (so far) has been on a leather bracelet. I decided to take that concept and put it to use in a necklace.
